IF YOU FEEL FOREST LAKE NATURE SCHOOL IS A GOOD FIT FOR YOUR CHILD AND WOULD LIKE TO APPLY FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR, PLEASE:

1. READ OUR WEBSITE AND THE FLNS PARENT HANDBOOK

2. COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM

3. Visit w/ our team. Experience Nature play, circle time, and meet w/ other families in our community

The application form must be received before a space can be reserved for your visit. Once your application is received, you will receive an email from us to schedule a visit. Visits are intended for children and parents unless otherwise noted.

After I Apply, What's The Enrollment Process?

OUR ENROLLMENT IS AN INTENTIONAL PROCESS...

  1. After meeting each other, the parents, teachers and children need to feel confident that Forest Lake Nature School is the right fit. We will contact you within a week to answer any remaining questions and then either invite you to enroll or discuss any concerns that may have arisen. If all spaces are full, you will receive an email to let you know that your child has been placed on a waiting list.
  2. Once you receive the official enrollment form, it will need to be completed and returned to Forest Lake Nature School as soon as possible, along with the non-refundable $125 registration fee. This fee will hold your child’s space and pay for forest school materials.
  3. Your child’s space in the class will be officially reserved as soon as this paperwork is turned in, and the enrollment check clears.

AS WITH ANY ADVENTURE, THERE IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE JOURNEY...

  • In order to enroll your child in forest school, he or she must be able to follow directions carefully and show respect towards other children and their teachers.
  • Children must be toilet-proficient in order to attend. They must know when they have to go to the bathroom and be able to effectively communicate that. We are understanding that children may have occasional accidents and regressions.
  • All students must be at least 3 years old by September 1st.
  • You must commit to appropriate clothing for Forest School. This is CRITICAL to the success of the program AND the child. “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing choices.” See the parent handbook for further information on seasonal clothing requirements.
  • We strongly value communication. We’ll be sending out a weekly update on Fridays. It will highlight that particular week. We also regularly post Forest Lake Nature School endeavors on Instagram.
  • In addition, we strongly value building relationships with Forest Lake Nature School’s families. Therefore, we will host seasonal weekend events to promote community development within our school, and to extend the forest school experience to each student’s entire family.
